Louis Vuitton Announces Android Wear Watch
Some of the biggest luxury brands are jumping onto the wearable technology train. Recently, Louis Vuitton announced the “Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon,” a watch that will operate with the Google Android 2.0 platform. The watch will include the standard Android Wear features along with a few extra bells and whistles, including some custom watch faces designed by Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton is not the only brand seeking to meld fashion and technology. Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, and Montblanc have done the same thing. All of these companies have started to recognize that shrinking circuit boards and strong digital platforms like Android 2.0 can allow them to give their customers more capabilities, wrapped up in the luxury brands they already love.
Interested in the Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon? If you can afford the $2,450 price tag for the stainless steel model, then it’s yours. (That’ll be $2,900 if you prefer the black model.)
These wearable technologies are possible, in part, due to great advances in printed circuit board technology and PCB assembly service providers like Yun Industrial Acme PCB Assembly.
