Finally, a Robot That Will Fold Your Laundry

Here at Yun Industries, we believe that PCBs are powering some of the most innovative and life-changing technologies on the planet. Of course, not every new device is a breakthrough of monumental proportions. Sometimes they just make life a little easier. At this year’s CES, Seven Dreamers Laboratories proudly unveiled its “Laundroid” a robot that folds laundry.

Why Not a Robot That Folds Laundry?

Shin Sakane, the founder of Seven Dreamers Laboratories, claims that it took 13 years to create a robot that folds laundry. Even after all this work, his invention won’t be putting any laundresses out of work anytime soon. The Laundroid takes up to ten minutes just to fold a single shirt and comes in with a price tag of $16,000.

While it is unlikely that Laundroid will be popping up in homes across America anytime soon, it is just one more example of the explosive growth in the smart home industry. Many of these devices (though not necessarily Laundroid) incorporate  Printed Circuit Boards to keep them running.
